Herniated Disc
A herniated (also called a slipped or ruptured) disc is a fragment of the disc nucleus which is pushed out of the annulus, into the spinal canal through a tear or rupture. Symptoms may include pain and numbness, most commonly on one side of the body, that may extend to your arms and/or legs. Pain may also worsen at night, after standing or sitting, and when walking for short periods of time.
