Avast VPN Review

By October 3, 2023No Comments

The Avast VPN app is simple, easy to use and offers some good security features. It doesn’t have essential features like split tunneling and the kill button. It also doesn’t have an Ad-blocker built-in. While it’s an excellent service overall however, there are other alternatives that have better features for the cost.

Anyone who has used Avast antivirus software is familiar with the Windows client’s inviting, easy to use interface. Its interface is simple and the hamburger menu on the top right of the screen leads to “Settings.” The Windows application will connect automatically, or start a connection manually clicking the Change Location button. There’s a list of servers categorized by region and function (P2P or streaming).

Security is strong with Avast VPN, thanks to its 256 bit AES encryption and the fact that it blocks WebRTC leaks and DNS leaks. It also supports the extremely secure OpenVPN protocol, and offers beta support for WireGuard, which lets you connect in locations that might otherwise block VPNs. It’s an excellent option for those who have intermittent internet connections.

Avast’s policies on privacy are more transparent than the other ones, and it does not record your IP address or websites you visit. It does record the amount data that was downloaded and uploaded during your session.

Avast VPN offers a free 7-day trial. It doesn’t require an account with a credit card. You can then select between one, twoor three-year subscription that can be used on up to five devices. It accepts PayPal, Perfect Money and credit cards but does not provide cash or cryptocurrencies.
